4/5 science will be studying Chapter 6, Lesson 3 on “Fossils and Energy.”  Fossils will be reinforced through a flocabulary lesson.  Tests on Friday.

6/7 science will be studying Chapter 6 Lesson 3 on “Other Land Resources.”  Natural resources will be reinforced through a flocabulary lesson.  Tests on Friday.

week of 4/13 – 4/17

Both 4/5 and 6/7 science will continue the study of minerals and rocks.  This week we will concentrate on rocks.  Monday both classes will do a vocabulary lesson on rocks and complete a worksheet called “How to be a Rock Star.”

Wednesday we will play “Jeopardy”, covering questions over rocks.  Friday the students will have two short quizzes and one crossword puzzle.

4/5 science will be starting Chapter 6 “Protecting Earth’s Resources,” lesson 1 “Minerals and Rocks.” We will do a flocabulary lesson over Minerals and then have 2 quizzes and an extra credit crossword puzzle on Wednesday. 

6/7 science will be starting Chapter 6 “Conserving our Resources,” lesson 1 “Minerals and Rocks.”  We will do a Flocabulary lesson over Minerals and then have 2 quizzes and an extra credit crossword puzzle on Wednesday.

4/5 science, we will be studying about volcanoes.  They will have a short quiz on Wednesday and will do a volcano lab on Friday.

6/7 science, we will be studying “earth’s moving continents.”  They will have a short quiz on Wednesday and will participate in a “Pangaea” play on Friday.

6/7 computer will start a new research paper on a subject to be determined.

week of 2/24 – 2/28

4/5 science will start learning about plate tectonics.  On Friday, we will walk to the Galveston Children’s Museum to see an experiment of plate tectonics in action. 

6/7 science will start learning about “The Features of Earth.”  They will have 2 short quizzes on Friday.

6/7 computer will research why we celebrate black history month and then write a paper on the one (or more) African American person(s) they believe has been the most influential.

week of 2/17 – 2/21

6/7 science will review all the lessons in Chapter 4 and have a major exam on Friday.

6/7 computer will research an influential African American person or persons in honor of Black history month.
