(Kgripp) Pre-K weeks of April 20th & April 27th

Posted Posted in Uncategorized

Hello! In pre- k we are going to be revisiting nursery rhymes over the next two weeks. Each day we will have a new nursery rhyme. I had found a program that had several copies of nursery rhymes (5) in color with the characters to make into stick puppets. I have included them with the nursery rhymes we will be using over the next two weeks. These can be used later for story retell and reads. Each day will have a new nursery rhyme, which includes a daily lesson plan that has Literacy, Math, STEM, Fine Motor, Oral Language, Writing and drawing, Activity, and Music to go along with the rhyme, an information page for the rhyme, and a “I can draw and write page”. You are welcome to complete what you wish. Check your email for the documents.
I hope you enjoy it and at the same time have fun! ❤️Ms Gripp

Hello! Hope everyone had an awesome weekend! This week we will learn about the letter z, shape oval, color green, what are opposites, and count to 20. We will use scissors this week along with glue and do some rainbow writing. We will also practice listening to what my directions are. Children will be cutting circles which is a challenge.   Please be patient and you can help. We will do our “How many words I can name “ test on Friday. We will do a job of day and night by gluing pictures in the correct column. This is the last week of letters, numbers, shapes and colors. This will become review. In the next few weeks we will do Nursery Rhymes, and books. This is my time of year we have fun with what we have learned by having fun in learning. It might seem like play but it’s fun learning. The children will actually be reading. It’s the time of year I love.
Please remember I am here for you, so please call or text if you have any concerns or questions.

Hello Satori Families,
This week in Music: All grades are wrapping up their  study of the Baroque Era. Last week, we learned history, culture, big concepts, and big characteristics. We learned vocabulary words, but we did not have time to “experience” the music of the era. We will have activities that revolve around experiencing the music and the setting in which it would have been heard. Listening/discussion activities such as SQUILT, performance (singing and playing music that is from or in the style of the Baroque Era.)  All grades are playing classroom instruments and singing songs to celebrate MLK. Upper and Jr School are advancing in their recorder skills, and preparing for Federation Festival.

This Week in Theatre: We are reading and discussing the scripts for our Spring plays: The Hundred Dresses and Lightning Larry!
Looking forward to a great week!
Sincerely,
Laura Cotto

This week in Pre-k, we are learning about words that rhyme. We are also learning about the letter Jj, color brown, number 9, and shape square. Most of us can count to twenty! Most of us can spell our names! We are still working on 2-3 step directions and our listening skills. Projects this week might include coloring sheet for letter J, the number 9, a new nursery rhyme for each day, how many words I can say that start with the letter Jj, and a cutting sheet. The children’s cutting abilities are improving by leaps and bounds. Remember to sign up for your covered dish for the Thanksgiving Feast. As always, thanks for your support and the work you do with your child! Kim Gripp

We are getting ready for Halloween. Two of the Junior School students wanted to surprise the kids by decorating the room so I gave them all my supplies. I think they did a wonderful job and the kids love it.
The spelling words for this week are got, not, trot, spot, shot, ham, yam, am, clam, team. This week we will start having bonus words which are trick and treat. These words can only add points to the final total, not take away.
Our letter of the week is Gg for ghost. We’ll come back to Ff. Don’t worry. All ghosts and other creatures will be friendly.
This is going to be a fun week getting ready for Halloween. Check your email for what we need for the party and maybe anything else.
You all are the best!
