Accelerated math will start this week with their Equations and Inequality Test. We will then move into our study of plane geometry. Level math will continue their work with expressions. Level Math will have a quiz either Wednesday or Thursday so check their planners for that information! In Texas History, both 6th and 7th graders will continue to learn about the Spanish Colonial Era in Texas.
4th and 5th grade students will be working on a Thanksgiving Day Budget this week. Students will utilize different store’s advertisements to bargain shop and hopefully comprise a Thanksgiving Day Fest for under a certain amount of money. Please encourage your students to pay attention to the “unit price” of items and have conversations about what that means! This will be beneficial as we move into our division unit. In social studies we will ideally wrap up their country projects. Students began their posters/brochures/etc. on Wednesday.
IMPORTANT: 4th, 5th, 6th, and 7th grade students will be sent home with extra credit math work for them to complete over Thanksgiving Break. It is the choice of every student to participate and no one will not be penalized if they don’t partake or complete the assignments. However, students who do participate will be awarded bonus points when they return. All extra credit work will be due on Monday, December 2, 2019. No late work will be accepted. Please feel free to contact me with any questions or concerns at email@example.com.
