Week of 9/3-9/6

I hope you all had a wonderful Labor Day weekend! As a reminder, we do have early dismissal on Friday.

In Language Arts, we will be learning about types of sentences (question, command, exclamation), and what type of punctuation goes with each. We will also begin practicing the third phase of the writing process: revision.

In Spelling, this week’s prefix is dis-, and the suffix is -ing. Our words are distract, disagree, dislike, dispose, discover, working, differing, appreciating, thinking, and finding.

2nd Grade Math will continue to reinforce place value and how it can help with comparing numbers. 3rd Grade will begin to work on rounding numbers to the nearest 10 or 100.

In Science, we will be studying weather and climate, including how these differ from place to place.

In Social Studies, we will begin to discuss how geographical factors (including climate) can influence where people live and how they live.
