lowerschool week of 9/3-9/6

I hope you all had a wonderful Labor Day holiday. This week we are starting our letter of the week which is “a.” For show and tell this week, they are to bring something that begins with the short “a” sound. Show and tell is on Friday.
In math, with both levels we will be working on calendar skills and measuring the children for comparison at the end of the year.
In language, 1st grade will be working on sentence ending punctuation.  Kinders will be working on upper and lower case as well as right and left. Our science study this week is  “a” for apple. We will be focusing on plants and how they grow. If you eat an avocado this week, please send the pit to school with your child.  Also if you could send in an apple by the end of the week, we will make applesauce.
Lastly, 1st grade will have spelling homework each day this week. They did great on their practice test last week. All 100’s!
If you have any questions, please contact me. Have a great week!
